  8. Apple Announces Worldwide Availability of the Apple Multimedia
  9. Program

  11. MACWORLD, TOKYO--February 12, 1993--Apple Computer, Inc. today
  12. announced the worldwide availability of the multimedia developer
  13. program through APDA, Apple's source for developer tools.  The
  14. worldwide Apple  Multimedia Program is designed to spur the
  15. development of multimedia products.  The program provides marketing
  16. and technical information that enable Apple's partners all over the
  17. world to prosper in the growing areas of multimedia creation and
  18. playback.
  19.     The Apple Multimedia Program has been well received in the United
  20. States and Canada since its inception in December 1992.  Currently,
  21. over one hundred members have joined the program, representing the
  22. developer, consultant, producer, and systems integrator/VAR
  23. communities.
  24.     There is a growing number of multimedia developers that take
  25. advantage of multimedia technologies that are built into all
  26. Macintosh  personal computers.  Technologies such as QuickTime
  27. (Apple's architecture to handle dynamic data types such as sound,
  28. video, and animation), newly enhanced CD-ROM software and CD-ROM-
  29. equipped Macintosh computers have enabled developers to create new
  30. and different multimedia products.
  31.     "The availability of the Apple Multimedia Program worldwide
  32. represents Apple's continuing commitment to fulfilling the needs of
  33. the worldwide developer community," said Kirk Loevner, vice president
  34. of Apple's Developer Group.
  35.     "The Apple Multimedia Program will provide our global multimedia
  36. community with critical resources for building profitable new media
  37. businesses," said Satjiv Chahil, vice president of Apple's New
  38. Business Initiatives Group.  "We are pleased to be bringing our
  39. successful program to developers worldwide and reaffirming our
